In today's world we hear about how little teacher's are paid everyday. We hear it on the news, through social media, or from our friends in other industries. Given this fact most of us have no choice, but to find other ways to supplement our income throughout the year and in the summer. I have made a list of my current and past side hustles to hopefully help out a teacher how finds themselves in the same situation .
1. Uber
For the last four summers I have driven for Uber as a way to get out the house, meet some new people , and make a little money. I enjoyed the freedom and the opportunity to be in control of my schedule. All you need is your license, your car, and an account to deposit your money into. I was paid out each day which was super convenient during the summer when the time between checks seems longer and longer.
We spend our days making sure that students master the content and grow to their full potential . Last year I had the amazing opportunity to tutor a pair of siblings through Varsity Tutors. I was paid directly through the platform and the students were in elementary school so I was able to to tutor them on the basics like reading and math. Varsity Tutors is a great option for any teacher who would like to spend their time helping other children and making a little money on the side.
3. Ebay
One day working my teacher budget was getting really hard and all the sudden I was hit with some inspiration. I have all this stuff around my house that I am not currently or will ever use and I can sell it. The first thing I sold was my GoPro and made around $150 just off that one sell. After that I was hooked whenever I find things around the house that we aren't using any more example this textbook . I take a few pictures and list it on my ebay page. I especially enjoy selling on ebay because it helps me get my Marie Kondo on and get rid of things that are now longer bringing me joy and make a little money on the side.
