The Separation of Brittany and Ms. Hill

Although break is inherently a time for teachers to rest something else very interesting occurs during the first couple of hours of time off. Teachers are required to figure out who they are outside of their job. What parts of them represent their work personality and priorities and which parts represent their first name selves? The first name person not the Ms. or Mr. that we are called in our classrooms. For example , I have found that Brittany Is lazy , like extremely lazy, but Ms. Hill is always on point and a worker bee. Brittany enjoys coloring and writing and Ms. Hill is very analytical and planned.

Ms. Hill cares for children, Brittany cares for puppies. Finding what our first name selves truly enjoy can be really difficult if we do not ever stop working. My district has literally told us do not work over break . We can catch up over break with our PD day ( that I am so grateful for !). Allowing myself this thinking time has been difficult but rewarding personally. Things that were neglected during work are finally being taken care of such as my home and my nails and such. Although, being a very young teacher has a lot to do with why finding Brittany is so hard being overworked also plays a part. I will continue on this journey to find Brittany and what makes her tick and leave Ms. Hill for the kids!
